Despite it being almost two weeks since my last post, there has been a distinct lack of eventfulness in my life. I've completed my first aid/CPR class and I'm almost done the in class portion of Drivers Ed, besides that I've done pretty much nothing. I am starting my job on monday, so thats exciting... God. Apparently I'm freaken boring. Oh well. I've been writing some, though mostly it's just me jotting down ideas and then coming up with maybe a page before I scrap the idea. It's actually rather frustrating. Mostly though I'm just missing people. I'm thinking I'm going to make my way Edmonton soon. Sorry for the rather lackluster blog, I've been in a little bit of a funk lately, you know listening to a lot of Tegan and Sara, Where Does the Good Go? and also songs like The Funeral and Closer to you. Thats been my triad on repeat lately.
Anyways,
bye

Star Trek: The Review
So Yesterday I went to the movie theater at 7 oclock with my friend Murphy and bought tickets for the ten oclock showing of Star Trek. We then proceeded to spend two and a half hours waiting in line and then another half hour sitting in the theater... All for a movie that's two hours and seven minutes long. Was it worth it you ask? My answer: Yes, Yes a thousand times yes. First of all I've been to many Opening night showings but this was by far the most fun I've had at one. The line was great, we talked to a whole bunch of Treckies and had some great conversations with some really awesome people. The best thing about the line was that when murphy and I were talking about Lost and Star wars and making parody's of T.v. shows like a Zombie season of the O.C. I was listening around and Everyone else in line was talking about equally nerdy things. For once I felt like I belonged. It was awesome.
Now the movie: Non-spoilery ness- I've been a big Trek fan since I was little. I grew up on The next generation and Voyager and I eventually got in to Enterprise and The Original series, so I had high expectations of this movie, but I was also wary. I really needed this movie to be good because I needed it to revitalize my love for the series because there hasn't been anything good to come out of the Star Trek franchise in a long time. I was certainly not disappointed. This movie was Amazing!!!! It was brilliantly Directed and produced. The special effects were astounding and so was the music. Everything was just perfect including the acting. The young actors Did a brilliant job of portraying the familiar characters, and did a very accurate job of creating they're younger selves. Chris Pine as Kirk and Karl Urban as Bones were fantastic, they're friendship was perfect. Spock was excellent as well. The story was well written and fairly believeable despite some disputable physics. AHH! The movie was just to good to be true.
SPOILERS:
I loved the time travel thing. It was a smart way to reboot the series and it was fun and easy to follow. But Maybe thats just me, I'm good with time travel. I've watched far to much T.V. I also loved old Spock being there it was a treat.
END SPOILERS!
Over all it was a great movie for treckies and non-treckies alike!
