I haven't blogged for a couple of days which is a shame because I have a lot to talk about, so this may very well be the blog post to end all blog posts. Probably not though. It'll probably just be me rambling for a couple hundred words, but hey it gives me something to do as I'm sitting here in "Steeps, Tea Lounge" sipping some very excellent tea (celtic twist) and getting to bored out of my mind... It turns out that I don't know how to have fun anymore. Exams have ruined my life. You see I'm almost done my first year of university, I'm done 4 out of 5 exams with only French left to go, which should be an easy exam, so I'm coming out of study mode. Yesterday my friends and I decided to go to 7-11 to get "Slushies for fun" instead of "Slurpies for studying" like we usually do. They're the same thing just with a different name. Today my friend Ruth and I decided to go to our favorite study spot, Steeps, just for fun. Gasp! and now I can't find anything to entertain myself. It's ridiculous. oh well, on with the blog!
The first thing I wanted to Talk about was my opinion on music. I'm big into music and I'm not particularly picky but I do have preferences. I'm a big fan of acoustic version of songs and good quality live versions. Anything that's as real and unchanged as possible. I get so much more out of the music if there's a lot feeling and I always find that there's more feeling if the song is as raw as possible. It's why I love jason Mraz so much because his studio recorded stuff is almost completely unchanged, but even his acoustic versions are better. The reason That I brought this up is because I was looking around on youtube and I found an acoustic version of one of my favorite songs "Always Love" by Nada Surf. It's so much better than the studio version. I love it too death. One of these days I'll post a list of my favorite bands/artists and songs.
Another thing I meant to talk about was the fact that yesterday I woke up and Into my mind popped a great story idea complete with an opening sentence, which is nice because I always have troubles with the opening sentences. So That means I get to start writing again when I have more time! yay!!!! I'm stoked. Here is my opening line, it needs work but I like it.
"There comes a time in every teenager’s life where the world does a 180. Suddenly you find yourself looking back at whats already happend, Thinking, « what could I have done differently? what could I have changed in my life so I wouldn’t have to be living this moment right now. »"
Anyways, I'm going to be leaving university in 4 days and going home to start my clerical job for the summer ($18-$19 an hour!). I'm really sad because I'm going to miss everyone to pieces and I'm going to miss res and Whyte ave. But I'm excited to see my family again which is nice. So I have mixed feelings about leaving, but either way I can't wait for next year when I get to move in to my house!!!!!!!
